For those that are interested in 12v deep cycle batteries from which to charge your E planes, here is a good link on the care and feeding of 12v lead acid batteries. It is geared towards RV use, but all the information applies to us as well.

Most of the information is geared towards flooded wet-cell batteries. If you carry your battery in the car trunk or cargo area shared with passengers, you might consider the AGM type of batteries.
