[NSRCA-discussion] High Sierra Patern Shootout - Gardnerville, NV

WOW, what a great contest!!!  
 
 The Gardnerville Club, Tom Messer (CD), Al Messer and Rich Verrano  teamed 
up to put on a super contest.  Weather was beautiful, good turnout  with 29 
contestants, beautiful flying site and good support from the host club  all added 
up to a great time.

This contest reminded me of pattern contests from 10-15 years ago with the  
larger turnout, large raffle (about $2000 in raffle prizes), contest hats for  
the contestants and people traveling long distances to attend.   Several from 
as far away as Phoenix (Troy Newman, Greg Frohriech, Rusty Fried  and Frank 
Kelly)  and George Asteris even came from New Jersey!!!   That's some serious 
pattern travel!!
 
Thanks to the club, Tom, Al and Rich for putting together a great time for  
us all.
