Glenn,
I have tried the dual elevator pushrod but don't like it. I prefer the pull-pull arrangement for my surfaces. Hard to beat the weight and system flexibility.
HOWEVER, one thing I did find useful on my dual elevator pushrod set-up was to install a short length of 1/8" carbon tube from fuse exit to near the horn and then finish the assembly with a standard steel threaded rod epoxied into the carbon tube.
The carbon tube has an ID of .075" which fits the typical carbon push rod you get in those kits perfectly. To mate the carbon tube and carbon pushrod, I sanded both lightly and attached using medium ca. No accelerator please. Steel and carbon tube were mated with slow epoxy.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Repairing Focus 2
Well after looking and trying to repair my Focus 2 all winter, I just figured out I was making the repair harder that it needed to be. I simply need to replace the control rod to the horizitonal stab and then rebuild the fuse around the landing gear plate.
So my options seem to be to:
1. a replace CF control rod - a straight replacement part
2. change over to a DEPS
Has anyone tried retro fitting a Focus2 with a DEPS? I do have to rebuild the back section of the fuse, so I have access to the inside of the fuse at this point.
What you Yall think of the DEPS? The CF rods coming out the back to connect to the control surface are starting to look pretty thin to me.
Randy
