Besides being expensive the sensor is heavy, which would seem to displace a surface it was placed on. 

Check out the Hangar 9 Incidence / throw meter, a digital level with "Robart Incidence Meter" type mount, throw meter mount that places the meter over the hinge line, and a thrust angle adaptor at about $60 (Shipping backorders next week.)
