Wayne,

What engine and fuel are you using? What RPM are you getting?

Thanks,

Vicente

There are several carbon fiber options for 3 blade props that we should consider at: http://www.desertaircraft.com

Here are the options:

16x12 Air Models $74
16x13 Bolly $52
16.5x12 Bolly $52
16x11 Mejzlik $54
16.5 x14 Mejzlik $58

The question is: Have someone tried this props for pattern? It would be interesting to find out which one of this props is equivalent to the one we are using now. I will call DA tomorrow to find out if they know something in regard applications in the engine we use.

Today, while running an OS 1.60 with Master Airscrew three-blade 16 x 10 on the ground, ONE blade departed cleanly at the hub at near full power. The blade travelled approx. 45 yards, directly in line with the prop disc-plane of the engine. There were no injuries.

This particular MA nylon prop had approximately 75 flights with the OS 1.60 on Aeroslave pipe setup. Ground peak rpm was in the 85-8600 rpm range.

Based on other reports of three blade failures on the OS 1.60, I won't encourage their use any longer. Two brands, several different owners, different setups. Common elements - OS 1.60 on pipe and three blade setup.

This is just an FYI to those interested.
