Smallest Car that Conveniently Holds 2x2 Widebody

I get 23 to 24 mpg with an '01 Chevrolet 2wd Astro van at 70mph and can easily fit 2 - 2 meter planes, 2 people and enough gear for a weekend like canopies, flight boxes, luggage, etc. I think I would do better but I ordered the van with the trailer towing package and 3.73 gears instead of the stock 3.42 ratio ( I pull both an enclosed and open trailer with motorcycles and atv's ) . I still have the middle bench seat in the van at all times ( have 2 sons ) and a folding table arrangement behind that bench seat that lays on top of the folded bench seat when I transport airplanes.

My wife drives an Element. I had not thought about using it to transport a 2m pattern plane. I think it is doable, with the nose(s) between the front seats. Other option is to have one front and one rear passenger, with the planes on the right side of the car. The front passenger seat can fold down, the rear passenger side seat can come out altogether.

Gas mileage is not as good as I had hoped. Highway mpg at 70mph is less than 24.

How about a Honda Element? Butt ugly but with plenty of room and good
