Airborne batteries

It depends.  I do with an electric plane because I have my main chargers 
going after every flying session, so I just charge the RX pack on 
channel 2 (Schulzes have 2 outputs). It is held in with velcro, so takes 
about 5 seconds to remove or install.
On my glow plane I leave it in.

Lithium polymer batteries are only damaged by temperatures above ~150F.  
I actually had my car tinted this spring to keep internal temperatures 
down, but it was because I was concerned about the fuselage, not the 
battery.  We never see over 90F ambient here.
