I use Sanyo NiMH cells in both my flight packs and TX.
I have a fast charger suitable for NiMH and have been
using them for 3 years in my El Nino. They don't have
as much capacity per unit of weight as LiPo cells but
they are direct substitutes for AA NiCad celss and you
don't need a regulator. Mine have a capacity of
1650mAH and I have never used more than roughly 1/3 of
their capacity during normal use.
