Subject: Re: F3A judges for local comps
I may be the only one thinking this but, you know, it could be taken as a bit of an insult to assume that a person flying in a lower class is not good enough to judge a higher class such as FAI.
Is there a direct correlation between the class you fly and how good a judge you are or what you are capable of judging.
It is definitely an assumption but are there any collected data to back up the current conclusion.
I guess you could reasonably assume that there is a relationship between the class you are flying and how long you have been in pattern, and that the "time in pattern" is directly related to how much you will know and or have accumulated about judging and thus how good a judge you might be.
I do know that there is a real reluctance to judge FAI by Masters pilots but I don't know if that is because of the degree of difficulty or the fear of payback?
Regards,
Eric.
