Ed,
If I understand you correctly, you'll leave yourself without any adjustment abilities. I use the fittings Dubro makes for this purpose called rigging couplers and you can get them in either 2-56 or 4-40 thread. I run the nylon coated fishing line through them and then wrap the line around itself about three times. Heat that for a second or so with a Bic lighter to melt the nylon and you're done. No need for crimps or anything else. Learned that trick from Mark Atwood and used it on my last two planes. Absolutely will not pull apart.

Have a question for the heavy duty pull pull users.
On my Symphony I used a 2/56 eye bolt with nut screwed into a clevis, attached to the control horn and also at the servo. 2 of these assemblies way back at the tail is actually quite a bit of weight. I used the long Dubro black control horns screwed onto a bolt in the rudder.
My question is, Do I needthe eye bolt assembly or can you wrap the nylon coated fishing leader through the control horn hole and crimp? Should I go through the hole twice?
Thanx in advance.
