Top hinging

New plane is top hinged and intending to use Radio South hinges. Since the 
hinge slots would be close to the top sheeting I intend to angle the hinges 
downward further into the wing. This would keep tension on the hinges in the 
neutral position. Would this shorten the hinge life? Anyone have experience 
with this?
