         This is what the membership said to the questions in the survey for 2005 rules changes.

It seems to support your stance. (It is an AMA rule so it probably belongs in Don Ramsey's camp).

Question-49 

Should these people really be forced to move up

YES = 58____         NO = 125_____          RESULT = CHANGE____
Question-50 

Should we drop the point system and allow people to move when they are comfortable.

Question-51 

Allow points to degrade over time. Points from four years ago would not count any more.

Question-52 

Only award points of points for 1st, 2nd and  3rd place and require 5 people competing in a class before points are awarded.

Question-57 

Should a three-year "moving window" advancement concept be instituted as follows:  Advancement points are evaluated at the end of each calendar year using points the pilot accumulated during the three previous years. If enough points have been earned, the pilot must move up. If not, points earned three seasons ago are discarded and advancement is reevaluated the following year. For example, evaluate at the end of 1999 using points earned during 1997, 1998, & 1999. If no advancement is required, reevaluate in 2000 using points earned in 1998, 1999, & 2000.

Question-58 

Should the NSRCA develop a national database to accumulate points for each competitor to enforce advancement.  This would be separate from the NSRCA membership database because of non-NSRCA competitors.

Some members feel that the fact that a new schedule has been adopted releases the pilot  from the mandate.

Should all points reset to zero when a new schedule is announced
