Ed,

I moved the position of the grid to the following coordinates, which 
seems better to me: POSITION  82 -31.5 0
The circle does seem too small for a normal loop (might be fine for a 
vertical 8), and I requested from Rodeo either a larger circle or better 
yet the ability to change the diameter.
