I picked up a mini temp gun from Ebay for $25.00.  I'm still thinking on 
the watt meter.

Jim: One temperature gun that is widely used by the
Heli crowd id the "Raytek Mini Temp". It directs a
laser beam on the surface to be tested and has a
digital readout. If this is what you are looking for
try Heliproz in Montana. (www.heliproz.com) This is
great for determining engine temps etc. -- Larry K.
