Good catch, Don. Wonder why all the FAI pilots call "exit the box" after that spin exit? Hmm.

The FAI description CLEARLY confirms what you're saying; there is NO BOX EXIT, just the 180 to the downwind leg.

I think I've heard every FAI pilot in D5 and D6 call "Box" after that spin exit roll to upright....

  Bob and Jim,

I think there is an error in Jim's guide. After the last maneuver he says "Exit the box". Maybe the intent was to just say finish the maneuver (or "Exit the box" meaning the sequence is complete) but the first turn to downwind of the landing sequence must be done in the box. Seems minor but can result in a zero landing.

Jim has written a VERY comprehensive, step-by-step "how-to" on FAI. Many of you know Jim as a Masters' National Champion, now flying FAI in Florida (when weather and job permits!!)

Jim offerred his file for me to post on my website, link is below

Also links from my main page. Drop Jim a line, let him know what you think!
    Thanks, Jim, for sharing....
