Dave, try listening to books on tape. That REALLY helps the time go by, and
if it's a book you're enjoying you may even look forward to the drive!

Most libraries have them available free of charge.

I'm curious. How far is it to the practice field for most of the troops and
how long
does it take to get there?

In my case, to practice for an hour or two I need to drive 45 miles each
way. Total time driving ranges from 90 minutes to 2 hours.

I find it demotivating.
