Does Pattern competition cost too much?

Someone mentioned a traveling Nats   
 There is a lot to think about with that. No the Nats are best held in 
Muncie.  Yes, I do agree more exposure for pattern but that can be done with 
promotions and traveling promotional teams. Why risk a nats that would not have the 
facilities and the perfect flying field.
Not all clubs have the field they think they have.  Some Nats have been most 
disappointing to pilots who traveled to what a club thought was the the 
perfect field.
The research has been done on this and that is why the AMA  provides the 
fields we need for our large groups.  
It is difficult for pilots to travel but at least they know a contest will 
take place with the proper setting.
