The question has been asked about the center of the 2 half rolls opposite in 
the Intermediate pattern.  It is the center of the line between the rolls. 
The line defined by the end of the first roll and the initiation of the 
second roll is centered on the pole.  In other words, the line before center 
and after center is equal.
