How much straight is straight enough

Hi Jim,

Since Ron said it's OK as an engineer to nit-pick...

Flat and level are two different things.

Flat means "without curvature".

Level means "a horizontal plane of uniform elevation".

You can have a flat surface that isn't level, but a level surface has 
to be flat (curvature of the earth's gravitational field 
notwithstanding).

Unless you are in Ga or Ala.   <BG>
