My experience has been that the three blader permits a more consistent, and slower OVERALL flight speed, all through the sequence. I believe P factor is primarily a function of diameter and pitch, and smaller diameter props have exhibited less "ruddering" at the SAME APPROXIMATE maneuvering speeds.
Flying a slower speed makes me work the rudder more; I don't think it's a function of the three blade issue, because they are smaller diameter than the faster prop.

Just my experience.

  Randy:
I don't know if it's always the same, but on the few models that I've had with 3 blade setups, I've found that moving to the 3-blader tends to require a little more right thrust. I've discussed this with Dave Lockhart and he thinks it may have more to do with the speed you fly at and how the throttle is managed as to whether or not you will detect any difference. I can easily believe that and it might just mean that I have to refine my technique to get through corner pulls with less P-factor effect. For now, a little more right thrust seems to help me anyway.

I am planning on running a APC 15.75X13 3- blade. Does a 3-blade have more or less torque effect?

Depends on the prop, but I needed another couple of layers of a Pepsi can skin when I did it.

So are input on if I am going to need to change the right thrust when I change my Focus forma Webra145 to an OS160FX?
