I would suspect that your mixture valve was sticking?

  Subject: Time off equipment observations

  Hi All,

I've done very little flying or even looking at pattern equipment over the last 4 months (since D3 champs contest) due to a heavy work load. Two weeks ago I flew 2 flights, and yesterday I flew about 7 flights. After I located all my tools again and got to the field, I have some observations about the equipment and setup:
  1. Transmitter li-ion battery is not holding charge the way it used too when I was flying and charging more often.
  2. Header coupler broke (fixed now and added additional header support)
  3. Webra 160 w/ MC carb: tuning changed dramatically. After unsuccessfully screwing with it for a while, and Instead of chasing down the ghosts of this system (mostly created by my lack of use of it I think), I switched to a Webra 1.45 carburetor and disabled the mixture servo. The 160 runs fantastic on the 1.45 carburetor. No pump adjustments were necessary. Uplines had continuous rolls from takeoff. I think given the lack of available time right now, I'm going to stick with the simpler setup.
  4. The plane flew fantastic. All the control rates seemed great. CG seemed just fine. Mixes and conditions were all right on. I'm glad to discover that after a while of not flying, that the plane still felt great. I think it means that the setup is user-friendly and the plane (Ken's Aggressor), has good tendencies in it!!!

Unless work interferes, I plan on going to the Ocala contest. See ya there.

  Jim W.
