Thanks Steve. Do you remember the size of the O'Rings that you
bought??? I can guess at it, but it would be nice to know what to start
with.

I am using black neoprene O-rings with my Dave Brown hush clamp and my
ES2C140L90 CF pipe. I get around 100 flights before I need to replace
the O-ring. I get them at my local Ace hardware store.

Ed or Ron,

O'Rings; what is the part number and where did you buy them? I would
think the O'Rings need to be high temp to deal with the heat from the
pipe.

Looks like a good pipe mount.

Here's the requested pics on RCU. Yeah, the bottom is starting to look
a little ratty. Time for a repaint of that pipe tunnel. Anyway, nothing
else holds the pipe, it's completely suspended from the O-Rings. My
local Midas shop would be proud.

Bob:
Should work fine. I've been using an O-ring mounting method since
seeing this on Ron Lockhart and Rick Wallace's Focus's. It winds up
being similar to what you have inasmuch as it allows plenty of give in
all required axis, but definitely doesnt let things flop around. Light
& cheap too.

Basically, the pipe is just captured with 2 - 3 O-rings slung between
whatever you want to use to pull them taught along either side of the
pipe in 2 - 3 separate locations along its length. On a Focus, it's
real easy, since you just loop the O-ring under the screw heads that
hold the pipe belly pan to the fuselage. The only other thing needed is
something to prevent the pipe from slipping aft. I think Rick made some
kind of collar around the inlet area for it to grab. Depends on the
pipe location, you can also suspend the last one in the back by twisting
around the exhaust exit and accomplish the same thing. I have pics of
the Focus II if anyone is interested.

In typical "MacGyver"-ish fashion I *think* I've addressed this pipe
mounting challenge on the Icepoint.
Your opinions - thoughts - should I even try this, or has someone
already BTDT and learned something?
Feedback welcomed, please!
