Geez i think Im losing the half marble I've got left.
 
But just in case there's no non-schtick in your future, the simple brillo  
pad works great to remove the crud. And brasso metal polish works better than  
ally polish for all things aluminum, except Dave Brown ally spinners. Those  
sheet ally spinners use too low a quality aluminum that just doesn't seem to  
take a polish to mirror finish.
