Weather was not perfect but nearly so for the first test flight of my new airplane. OS is running good after 3 tanks on the ground and everything moves in the proper direction when the sticks are disturbed so off to the flying field we go. Take off run is uneventful and at about 4' the airplane takes a right turn and a nose down attitude with a vengeance, what the *&%*)%$(*^%$(*%^$*@ ? Ok Timmy T FLY THE AIRPLANE forget the trims for now! FLY THE AIRPLANE don't even think about those trims yet! FLY THE AIRPLANE !!!!! whew !!!!!!!! Ok at about 500' I can finally get to the trims and do some trimming, about 15 beeps of up and about 10 beeps of right aileron and I forget how many beeps on the rudder. OH MAN!!!!!!!! I have WAY too much control authority on all surfaces!!! Ok flip to low rate, ok that's better. Still a bit too much on low rate and I REALLY need some expo on everything. OK now we're at about 600' and got the airplane almost to where I can let go of the sticks without scaring all the ground hogs to death! Who the heck is that hollaring at me? Oh it's the field saftey officer telling me I'm above the 400' height limit and I need to come down some. )*&%$*&%#*^^)% after a few choice words about his mental status of his buttocks He left until the flight was over. Ok fly around a bit and get the feel of the airplane, nice role to inverted, nice snaps even a few knife edge loops, ok time to land and check the airplane and my shorts. Man this airplane slows down nicely! Plant it right middle of the runway dead center for a 10 and a short roll out and taxi back to the pits. With a big sigh of relief I check the airframe all over and nothings coming apart and seems good to go. Now let me find that safety officer..........................
