Paul,
Lances (Aeroslave) pipe is very competitive price wise even with some of the light weight alum. pipes. I makes a bunch of power and has a nice sound to it. And at only 3 ozs its hard to beat. You didnt say how much you wanted to spend. E-mail me off list I may have something for you.

Emory,
Thanks for the reply.
Is it true that an aluninium pipe is less expensive than a CF pipe.
If so any recommendations.
Thanks,
Paul

I would not hesitate to recommend the carbon pipe that Aeroslave sells. It's extremely light and very durable. I have used on since the nats on a Webra 1.60 and I think it gives a little boost over the Greve I was running. The price is very good also at $160. Here is their site info...

What other pipes are good - that one is a bit pricey. Also how do I go about calculating the header rise ?
I suppose it would require first picking the pipe and then the pipe center would be 1/2 the diameter (yes I know that is called the radius) plus the standoff distance from the fuse. The vertical distance between the pipe center and the center of the exhaust would yield the rise.
Is there a generally useable estimate for pipe diameter that can be used w/o first selecting the pipe ?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul,
I have a Hydeout with a Webra 1.45 that I flew all last season. The 1.45 has lots of power and I have been very happy with its performance. I have a grieves pipe and a header I bought from Piedmont Models I think its the same as the one Central Hobbies sells. I bought the header with a large rise, about 2 1/2" and then I cut a section out of the header to set the rise at the value I needed. I connected the header together with silicon tubing. The whole setup has given me very good service.
I heard you can't get the grieves pipe any more so you might try the ESD2c160L9 from Central, kind of spendy at $230.
I did have a lot of trouble with the Webra when I was first setting things up and what worked for me was installing a bladder, bubbleless, tank that I bought from Central.
I can send you some pictures of my setup if you like.

A friend has purchased a used Hydeout and decided to install a Webra 145. Any suggestions on header and pipe to use ? How much rise should there be on the header.
TIA
Paul
