Pump

Use the line that would go to your muffler as a vent. If you are drawing
fuel from the tank, via a pump, you need a vent to equalize the pressure in
the tank, so as to not cause a vacuum. If you are sucking the fuel out, you
need to allow air back in. I normally fun the line straight down and out
the bottom of the fuse, attach the line with a clamp to the firewall. You
can also put a check valve in line to allow air to enter and no fuel to
exit.
After all of this, I never asked, do you already have the tank vented? That
should have been my first question.
One more thing, I've run the Perry VP-20 with muffler pressure, it works
great. I believe the VP-30 says not to use muffler pressure.
