Oh Earl hit on a good suggestion too...The disc valve clearance....If its too tight and dragging it will not idle properly...but too much gap and it will act funny when heated up...On this there should be (2) set screws in the hole...One on top of the other....So remove one screw then loosen the other screw...Push the disc valve and the pin tighten the gap and then set the screw....You want it as tight as possible with no binding or dragging on the back plate of the motor...

Cool Power Fuel....you want the 30% heli fuel. Phone # 334-393-4852

RPM wise the restrictor is about 300 and its a big difference is you need it.

Sounds like its just a couple clicks rich...try leaning it out just a couple clicks and see what happens in the air not on the ground!

If it continues then it could be time for a new ring and check the piston for round, cylinder for scratches and so on.

You might step back a prop size too...the 16-12 would be my choice. Turn the motor in the 8500-8800 range. This is pushing the noise limit but....that's not a problem.

Hey everyone. Asking for a friend. Have a 140DZ. It has several issues we can't figure out, wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

16.5X12W prop, Magnum DZ fuel, Hatori header and pipe, OS F Plug. Only get 8300RPM at start but as the engine warms up it noticably drop 3-500 RPM. The idle is reliable as well as transition so don't think it is the pump. The high needle is 1.5 turns out. Leaning it only results in a drop in RPM. The problem is it goes RICH on vertical lines or vertical radii. The plane slows so much it is hard to fly well at that point. The smoke doubles after going vertical.

    Any ideas??

Secondly, Joe wanted me to ask if the restrictor in the carb could make a big difference if taking it out??

    Thanx in advance
