Coupler part # at McMaster-Carr

Like Ron says, a Ford / Chevy thing.

PTFE - good stuff for the lazy pilot. I've been using the same Teflon
coupler w/ my 140RX for about 500-600 flights, and it's still fine. Double
spring clamps to hold it on. No failures, no maintenance, no worries.

Ron,

If I were running the hotter 4 strokes I would definitely use PTFE. But on
2 strokers I don't prefer it.

I don't like the teflon approach. Wierd stuff. it shrinks to its nominal

It can be pretty stiff too. A Webra is not a 4 stroke and I like the softer
give of silicone. I use the clear 5/8" high purity tubing because it's good
to 500 degrees, which is 150 more than regular silicone. number 51845k38 is
what I order.

Well, I guess that's why they make Fords and Chevrolets. I prefer the Teflon
tubing. I used one piece of 1/2" ID PTFE tubing on the YS 1.40L-powered
Advantage that I flew for 2 1/2 years. I never used any clamps on either
end.

Hello,

I was wondering what type of material people are using for couplers for
their two stroke engines. I am going to place an order at McMaster-Carr
(unless some else has a better place to get it) for the Teflon coupler
material. What part # are you using? This will be for a Webra (Mac's header)
and Aeroslave carbon pipe. Both are between 3/4" to 7/8" in diameter.

Thanks,
Emory Schroeter.
