Contest Scoring Software

Contest Scoring SoftwareI'd like to add to this information. Gene's program has a wonderful feature of having a shareable contestent database. In D6 we strongly encourage CD's to start with the latest database by getting it from Gene's website, so they have most pilots pre-registered. Then after the contest (and adding in new contestants) ship the database back to Gene to be posted for the next contest. By doing this we have a list of active pilots, NSRCA members or not, that makes CD'ing, contest notifications, and even the upcoming survey (that we want to distribute to as many pilots as possible) much easier.

I suppose if everyone did this Gene might want to keep several databases around, say East coast, Central, West, but maybe not. There are only a few thousand of us and one database can be used for the whole country. I encourage use of this.

Now that contest season is starting, this is a message to all CD's. I have developed a Windows based contest management system, PACSS (Precision Aerobatic Scoring System). This system has been available for over a year and has been used successfully at least 12 contests in that time.

The system is available for download at http://home.comcast.net/~pac-ss/. The software is FREE; I only ask that you register with at the time you download.
