OS1.40 RX - Old vs Revised carb

Initially, OS provided a no cost replacement spray bar that provided a leaner midrange. If you look at the original and replacement spray bar at the same time, it's easy to see the replacement has a smaller slot. Without both of them to compare, I'm not sure how you might tell the difference.

I recall the OS 1.40 had a carb issue when released. Can someone advise whether or how its possible to tell the difference?
