You don't know how close you are with the above statement. When I ordered the Impact, it was with the thought of going electric. When I started price comparison to electric vs glo, it was basically a wash as far as the motors, etc. were concerned. The show stopper for me was in the battery to fuel comparison. When I go to the field to practice, most of the time I fly 4 to 6 flights at 15 to 17 minute durations in 2 to 3 hours time, depending on how many other folks are at the field. When I started figuring how many battery packs I would have to have to be able to accomplish that same thing, counting charging several while at the field, I cam up with at least 4 packs. At $650 a pop, and these packs would only last about 12 minutes in duration, plus the unknown of how long they will last, it was totally cost prohibitive for me to consider it at this time. So I chose to go with glo.
But you are right, as soon as the battery technology and cost improves, I will be right there with one, as I too see this as the future of our sport/hobby.
