I have not done my homework so may be I am misinformed.
As I recall there was something done to allow egt feedback on engines.

  I'll go read the FAI code, but do you remember if it illegalizes controlled engine RPM, or airplane speed? Like I said, I'll go re-read that part of the rule book, but I suspect that it was closed-loop control of the airplane that was made illegal. I happen to agree with that intent, but who knows how the language actually came out! I don't think that FAI prohibit helicopter rotor RPM governors ...
  If there is a problem with the rules, maybe we can fix it.
