Tony, please pass along to others in the pattern community. I flew with Charley for so many years while at Ace. He was one of a kind and a super guy.

I will never forget, we were all out at the 50th anniversary of our club. It was the biggest fly-in I had ever seen at our field. I was holding a 55% Giles when we were told to shut it down for an announcement. There it came, news I never would had expected Charley Reed has past away this morning.... ( This morning of all the mornings the club's 50th it seemed so strange but so fitting) right at that moment I knew he was there with us all of us he had helped all of us at one time or another. It could have been just some advise or it could have been the parts that we bought in his little basement where he always was smiling when he always had the part you needed when you needed it! Charley had been around since the beginning of model airplanes and had done it all.

I began to think how long had I known Charley well, longer than I could remember. He knew me since I came into this world! He was the modeler's man the go to guy if you wanted to know how to do this or what you needed for that he knew what you needed or had a good idea for you. His input into this hobby will be missed by all of us in the Kansas City area and for all of you around the U.S. who knew him.

If you could please post this where people can read it and know that a great modeler has past one that will be missed by his family and his family of modelers.

Charley we will never forget you.
                                             -Daniel M. Ulledahl
