MessageMy Ins. guy said if it isn't specifially excluded--it would be included under Personal Property--but needs to be inventoried. If you can't replace all your stuff AND the model related stuff--increase your limits.
Good luck Tom--Hope it takes a 120 degree turn NE.

My Farmers agent told me my home owners policy would cover my hobby stuff up to 3% of my household coverage. OR about $8000. When I told him my competition planes cost(read...are worth) between $2000-$3000 he about choked and said I need to start playing golf again. Home owners would cover my equipment in the trailer but my car insurance would not and the trailer needed a rider policy in order to be covered.
Policy coverage will differ from area to area and between each policy depending on limits and type of coverage you choose.

My ins agent told me to add a rider to my home owners policy and to photograph all my stuff and store the photos at the office just in case my house burned down.

Tony is correct. I have made a 24,000 dollar claim within the last two years on JUST MODEL Airplanes & IF you can't prove what you had, Your out of luck.
Document EVERYTHING you own! Review your insurance coverage limits & riders. Most Homeowners policies limit your benefits to Jewelry, Guns, Furs, Currency,Stamp collections, & yes Motor driven hobbies. Especially AVIATION related activities. I cannot say this enough READ THE FINE PRINT in your POLICY!
IF the coverage is NOT sufficient ADD RIDER coverage's.
God bless the souls affected by this past & forthcoming weather! Large Insurance claims are a B!t at h. All you can do is try to get close to what you had!

BTW is this weekends Jacksonville contest a GO?

        Tom:
Make sure your airplanes are included in your homeowners policy. I would do an inventory, complete with video and take it with you.

Does the AMA insurance cover losses due to hurricanes? Looks like we will be bugging out later this week and my planes will not make the traveling squad. Any suggestions?
