Strange Batery Behavior

Absolutely, I recently had an older pack short out during trickle  charge.  
Luckily my Alpha 4 recognized it and shut down.  Still fried  the wiring, the 
switch and the foam around the pack.  No fire  though, just put another pack 
and switch harness in the plane and went  flying.
 
It ain't worth the risk with the low prices battery packs go for these  days.
