Hi Mike,

Here's what I used for the first flight on my Focus II:
- Elevator 15 degrees, 50% expo
- Ailerons 12 degrees, 40% expo
The instructions that came with mine recommending setting the wing at zero
for first flight (see bench setup toward the end of instructions under the
section titled Pattern Airplane Trim Guide). I did that and after a few
flights I've probably adjusted the wings back close to 1/2 positive....I'd
have to check.

These settings were good for first flight. I think you'll find the elevator
will have more than enough travel. I reduced the travel on mine after a
couple of flights. It will just depend on how sensitive you want your
elevator to be.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Ken Kaut

I am setting up my plane - can anyone tell me what would be the best
recommended throws for ailerons and elevator for the 1st flight? Also, the
plans suggest a 1/2 degree positive in wing and a 1/4 degree negative in the
stabilizer - should I leave this setting or should I zero wing out for the
1st flight? CG will be as per plans. I can put dual rates in, but still
need a basis to start with.

Thanks,
Mike Pascale
