With PCM3 at 2048 will it be compatable with older receivers?

Just to let everyone know, here is the latest info on the new top-of-the-line radio from Futaba. It is called the T14MZ.

Here is a first look at the new Futaba T14MZ... Best guess is availability of sometime in December. Price? Don't know for sure, but the word is that it will be around $3,000.00 street price! Note that this is pricing on a complete system, with receiver, battery pack, and 4 S9255 digital servos. I now hear that it will be sold in four different versions, Airplane with and w/o servos and Helicopter with and w/o servos.

Here are some of the features..

Futaba T14MZ

2048 PCM (PCM Generation 3)

14 Channel Synthesized Transmitter and Receiver using wireless programming of the receiver frequency

G3 receiver is 14 channels, yet 25% smaller than the R149DP

7.4V 2200 MAH Lithium TX battery pack for 2-hour operating time

Dual Processor system utilizing Windows CE for Programming, and a Futaba Processor for control of the signals sent to the receiver, thus no worries about a "Windows Crash".

40% faster frame rate

30 model memory, expandable to 100 models with optional flash memory card

MP3 Player to playback pre-recorded voice prompts (up to 24) as well as playing any MP3 music file to practice "freestyle with music" flights, or even record and playback a flight sequence. Uses on-board speaker, or headphones.

Large, Full Color Touch Screen Programming

Expected release -- December, 2004
