 Amen except for this statement
"Most of us think FAI is tougher all around than AMA Masters... no surprise here..."

In my area AMA Masters fliers out rank FAI 4 to 1. It makes the Masters class competition really harder than the FAI. Granted that the elite gravitate to FAI but that number is as low as 20 fliers in the whole country. Many great fliers in the US opt to stay in AMA Masters. Also the new manuevers in Masters are just about as hard and poweerplant demanding as the FAI's. Mike

Lets summarize a little:
Two strokes & four strokes both work but most of us would prefer electric were it not so costly.

The guys who win the most are more likely to be sponsored... no surprise here ...
A power plant that does not meet an individuals expectations can quickly become an emotional issue.
The guys at the top seem to be able to do well with whatever equipment they get their hands on.

in conclusion, It will take more than a new Brio with a DZ/Hacker/two stroke-of -the-day to make me a contender! Fortunately, it will not keep me from enjoying the game.

Mike, I do not want to get into a 4c vs 2c discussion, since whatever works for each flier is what they should, and most do, use and fly. I doubt any top flier would use something as a sponsorship, that would not give him the the best chance of winning.
