[SPAM] Wing Joiners

Why the wing joiners are tubes? To make decalage adjustments easier? 
There is another reason? I´m designing my own 2M ship and here in Brazil 
CF tubes are not cheap and alu tubes are way too heavy (i´m planning to 
use a gas engine).
I was thinking making a joiner out of CF reinforced wood joiner. That 
would be inserted in a wood sleeve to be built at the wings.
