Hi Tony,
I bought it from Central, at the same time I bought the unit. The soft
insert makes all the difference.
Jim

Jim,

I added 2 extra cells to my Kavan and now it has enough power. Where do
you get the soft blue insert from?

Tony

Subject: Kavan Starter/batteries

Hi All,

I have a Kavan starter with new brushes, new battery case, new NiMH
battery pack from www.superbatterypacks.com and the original Nicad pack.
Starter is acting like new again since I installed the new brushes,
however, it is still not enough to turn over a cold Webra 160. It turns
over a friends YS 140 DZ and 160 DZ with total ease, as well as the Mintor
140/170, Webra 145, OSs. Turns out the original Nicad pack was fine,
starter just needed new brushes. Also has the "good" blue soft rubber
insert.

Starter, case, insert, nicad, and nimh add up to around $140. $70
includes shipping US if someone would like to buy this combo.

Thanks,
Jim W.
