Thanks for the ideas to keep the wing tube centered. Initially I'm going with the hose clamp method; quick, low risk, small weight penalty, and I just happen to have one in the field box.
 
For a less weighty solution, I'm thinking about some kind of soft stop in the wing. I'll let you know what I come up with.
