Floats

Just spent the better part of the night modifying the ole swallow for
retractable floats.  Seems that the extended forecast for our area
(Houston) just isn't that promising and after much deliberation if I am
going to get some practice in this seemed the only alternative. 
So far the only challenge now is the water rudder, upon retracting the
floats the cables seem to become tangled etc, and then upon lowering
them I have no "ground" control. If anyone has any other alternatives to
cables let me know.
