Rules, etc. Sorry; long posting

Georgie:
You asked a fair question. How indeed to implement the needed changes
to be able to control our own sport, and to assure that those rules
which the majority want, are in fact what we will be using to fly by.
First, it seems that recently AMA has considered, and will probably
implement, official publication of the rule book on the internet, at the
AMA web site.
If, in fact, the internet is the "official" book, then we, too, can have
an official Internet site. It's called www.nsrca.org.
Whatever we publish on it would be the law of Our land, also. A good
place to start would be with Ron van Putte's Annex. Only now, it's no
longer an "Annex."
It's now called the "How to Fly and Judge Pattern Book." (Or, of
course, something similar.)
Further, we would disseminate the rules changes that have been asked for
by the majority of those members answering the survey. We would ask,
(but not, at first,) require contests to follow these new rules
changes. To the points above, we are in compliance with the AMA. CD's
can request these changes when their sanction is applied for. If
denied, other courses of action are open.
We would continue, of course, to follow all of the AMA safety guidelines.
In any event, the above is for openers.
It will take some fortitude, and I am sure some may get weak-kneed at
the idea of opposing the Powers-that-be, but we have a carbon copy of
those who have gone before us, and achieved what their discipline needed
procedurally.
