Suggestions for entry level pattern plane

He there!
I know it's kinda late in the thread here, but I just wanted to offer my .02
in favor of the Aresti.

First off, I assume you are starting out in Sportsman. For Sportsman and
Intermediate, I think it would be fine. I flew mine for a season and a half
of Sportsman, before a really good deal on a two meter plane came up. Once
CG was set, this plane would lock on track and didn't have any bad
tendencies as I recall.

I had an OS .46FX in mine. Not quite unlimited vertical, but had more than
enough power for the sequence. The only thing that bothered me was the way
they mount the landing gear. The main gear is a two piece set up, one half
for each wheel. On a hard landing , I split the fuselage whilst splatting
the gear, if you know what I mean :-) Then on my replacement one piece
gear, I would bounce every landing, no matter how light I came in. Go
figure....

Also, don't add any weight to the thing. I brought my CG into range by
putting the battery in the back half of the fuselage, behind the servos. I
have also seen rear mounted servo's, etc....

I sold this plane to a friend I am trying get involved in pattern, and still
fly it periodically. I am tempted to get another one!

I wish you good luck with whatever you choose!
