I think this is a very big mistake! We are going to loose about half of
our banquet participants. There is nothing to keep the Advance and
Intermediate flyers there for another day. My guess is that some of the
top three will not stay around for the awards. For those of us who are
planning the entire week off from work, that works, but an awful lot head
out after the banquet Wed, to be back at work Thurs, to save 2 more days
of vacation. I guess we will see! What would you do if we have a
situation like we had last year, where the plaques were not made up
properly. At least while we were at the site, headquaters was able to
correct the problem. If you wait until Thurs, there is no saving the
situation.
It also requires the FAI and Masters pilots to stick around for several
hours, when a lot of them could be getting a good start home Thursday
afternoon. I know that the place is empty by 5 on Thursday afternoon.

What has the banquet attendance been the past few years? My guess is
about 200. If the banquet is changed to Thurs, my bet is that you get
less than 50. If that is what is wanted, go for it! I know I'll be half
way home by then.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Just a heads up.....the schedule that is listed on the NATS entry form is
wrong. The banquet will not be on Wednesday night as it has been in the
past. It will be on Thursday after the Masters and FAI finals. I talked
to Dave Guerin (Chip and Dave are the CD's) the other day and he
confirmed this. The idea behind this is to have the awards presentations
of all classes at the same time. Friday will still be a "weather day."
The rest of the info is correct...(pilots meeting time, etc.)

Thought I would pass this along, as I know some of you start heading back
home Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
The mistake was caught by Dave, but AMA did not make the corrections to
it. Next months K-Factor is suppose to have a break down of the correct
schedule.

Please pass this info on to anyone that might not be monitoring the list.

Thanks,
T-Bone

Just got my Nat's package last week, for anyone that is new you can get
your forms from the AMA website, now is a good time to get them in. First
timers don't get the forms in the mail.
