Stab Tube

I bought a carbon fiber tube for my new Eclipse.  After I put the stab on I
realized that the stab tube was about a milimeter or two samller than it
should have been.  I thought and wondered what can I do to rememdy this
problem.  I then though to add fiberglass coth to the stab tube where it met
the fuse, it was of course too big then so I had to sand it down until i got
the desired fit, not it fits like a glove!!.  Anyone ever done this?
