Try a short piece of Tygon tubing slipped over the needle. (you may have to heat it up to get it over the needle) A small piece of yellow nyrod will slip in the other end and you can use a 2-56 screw or whatever you want in the nyrod.

Is there a replacemnet needle valve available for this engine that has a provision for an extension? The stem is short and only has a slot for adjusting with a screwdriver. Being so close the the prop, this is a little hazardous with a cowled engine.
Alternatively, is there a simple way to add an extension to the needle?
