Webra Problem

Here is a great link to some 2 stroke fuel and tuning info, definitely a
informative read, the article about using a gasser carb for fuel control
sounds very interesting. I to have had problems with my Webra and think that
the pump problems are from heat built up during rushed or improper break in
witch I am guilty of, Also trash in the pump has been a issue a couple of
times. I have decided to run a Perry pump on mine this weekend and see if I
can get more consistent runs with the pump away from the heat and the Perry
pump is very easy to adjust with having to remove the engine. I am currently
having similar problems with a Mintor 170 that is an early vintage, I have
not flown this motor yet due to it's poor running and MY inability to get it
tuned right, I think these motors and pumps require a higher level of two
stroke tuning knowledge to get set up without causing damage in the
beginning and fighting the down hill battle afterwards because of worn
bearings, warped or stiff pump diaphragms from hot runs, screwing with the
pump pressure when not needing it, poor crank case pressure from poorly
sealing ring, and a whole host of other problems. My Mintor and Webra are
teaching me allot and I will conquer them, but not without some necessary
and unnecessary expense!!!

pressure gage on a good running Webra to see exactly what the pump pressure
is. I include myself here because I had many problems with my Webra. I only
solved my problem with a cline regulater and tank pressure.
> If we knew what this pressure was we could compare a poor running engine
with a good one. Also this would give you a benchmark to start your setup on
a new engine. Just some tho'ts for Webra people.

much last year; but the engine mostly ran well. Sometime go a little rich
and lose a little vertical. Has been less reliable this year after the
winter.

time.replaced fuel tank earlier this week. Turned pump pressure in one turn
today. Have high end around 3 turns out. I see smoke on the ground, but
much in the air. Seem to bog more on the latter half of the tank. Moved
tank to just in front of wing tube to shorten line to pump;but did not see
any change.

lines. It seems to me that the pump should delive a near constant flow of
fuel. So I should not need to have is real rich on the high end to handle
the up lines. But still losing power on uplines, so have been richening it.
