Bob,
So far so good on the ones I have converted. I now have about twice as
much time on these servos converted to SAs as I did the original metal
gears and they are still relatively slop free and smooth.
But then I am not banging them up as hard as youse guys in Masters. ;-)

Subject: JR 8411 Gear Conversion
Today, I did the conversion of a metal-gear 8411 to the SA
version....only left the metal OUTPUT gear in place, replacing all the
others. It sure seems smooth, slop-free, tight, and powerful.
I think I heard about this (leaving the metal output gear installed)
from Troy Newman....or someone else I can't recall...
Question - does this work over the long haul? Any downside effects of
leaving the output metal?
Appreciate any experience here.
