ceramic bearing

Wayne,

I have used that bearing in my OS 140. The ceramic balls do not rust, but
the nitro acts as an abrasive and wears the ceramic balls. Once the balls
start to wear, they develop an abrasive finish which in turn wears the
bearing race, which will rust. All of this together causes the bearing to
wear faster than a stock bearing. The best bearing in my opinion is the one
that the guys on the list have been talking about, which is the OS fi
stainless bearing.

I know the ceramic sounds like a good idea, that is why I tried it.
Unfortunately it did not work out very good in our application.
